Gary Dranow and The Manic Emotions is back and running towards the release of their new full-length. But first, the band has a brand new single to present, this time the title track for the album called “Never Give Up”. And just as the title suggests, Gary has flooded the tune with good energy to reinvigorate and to inspire. This is “Never Give Up”, a song to keep it going to, and a helpful hand to get up on after a trip-over and fall!

Life is definitely particularly good at throwing obstacles in the path, some of which seem huge. While the showstopper might be hard to gnaw your way through of, there’s the sound of Gary Dranow and his band to remind there’s more to life, and that the problems reduce in size when you have a moment to breathe and rejuvenate. “Never Give Up” provides just the perfect moment with its airy, lively instrumentation and the warm, slightly hoarse voice of Gary singing of life and what it really entails.
Through its optimistic core, Gary never claims the problems aren’t there. They are and every day brings something new on the path, but instead of looking at them as impassable obstacles, the single encourages to keep the spirit high and to keep on the fight. Through the use of breezy guitar melodies and easily driving percussion, the daunting effect of ongoing problems to seem to turn down. Like a wise friend with a welcoming care in his voice, “Never Give Up” eases the mind and lifts the weights and makes simply a wonderful title track for the upcoming LP.
Gary and the band bridge raw emotion with contemporary sound, which is in their ethos. That said, there’s a certain air of timelessness, meaning that “Never Give Up” will sound just as refreshing and caring in 5 years’ time as it does now. It’s also a much-needed tune – the times are challenging now, but when are they not?
