Lee Hornsby, aka Chords Of Indigo, is a singer, songwriter from Manchester, UK. Influenced by the undefeated artistry of bands like Placebo, Nothing But Thieves, Thrice, and Panic! At the Disco, Hornsby likes to imprint his own dark pop-rock sensibilities into his songs.
Fusing Indie Rock with Alt Rock, this new artist is best defined by confidence and passion. A musician seeking to expand his reach while creating modern and authentic music inspired by bands like Death Cab for Cutie, Bon Iver, Sam Fender, The War On Drugs and many more.
“Labyrinth” is a song about obsession and relational complexities, offering a powerful narrative entwined with the mysterious allure of Mark Z. Danielewski’s novel House of Leaves.
The single is a mix of high-reaching riffs as well as intimate and emotive vocals. A musical ride full of dynamic, and a sensibility rivaled only by its ominously uplifting vibes. Anthemic, guitar-driven, and raw, the single opens up the door into Chords Of Indigo’s fascinating world.
Hornsby wrote the song while recovering from a nasty bout of flu, and having just finished reading House Of Leaves, which in Hornsby’s words is a trippy, cult classic, meta-novel. Written between fever dreams and themes of the book, Hornsby wrote the majority of song with his acoustic guitar in one evening.
“I write emotionally charged music, often with layered meanings in my lyrics that I hope will resonate with people in different, personal ways. I like to play around with guitar-based genres to keep things sounding fresh but still consistent.”
