Put a fork in it. Debate over. The idea of who is the greatest farmer ever is no longer a question, but now a LITTLE-KNOWN fact. Spoiler alert in case you missed it, it’s Hank Forager. Indeed, after Forager Sr. “bought the farm” so to speak, Hank Forager stepped up to the plate, or rather the mic, to establish his sheer dominance in the field.
And when the game begs for mercy, Forager honorably grants it as any CLEAR-CUT leader with nothing to prove would, his Spotify bio reading:
“Hank considered adding more verses to “The Greatest Farmer” … but he didn’t want to milk it.”
Tell me one other farmer who has fire rhymes like this at their disposal? I’ll wait…
“Girls, how you feel ’bout a menage a trois, while we take all my cows to the abattoir?”
I rest my case.

As much as I would like to stay in satirical character, I will move on to note that Hank Forager is quite the talented musician, self-described as a musician first, comedian second. His artistic expression comes from a commendable place, wanting to share the positive vibes he’s personally felt from “really good comedy, and really good music… and really great comedy music” when being in a dark space. He’s described the overall goal for the result of listening to his music is to make someone smile. And… “help you look at the world with a little bit of acceptance of its absurdity.”
Well, there you go. I needed a little bit of that remedy this morning as I have been wrestling with some system issues for the radio station. Goal achieved, Mr. Forager! Absurdity embraced and am grinning from ear to ear.

Putting aside the frustrations I had with some radio scheduling today, I took some time to listen to “The Greatest Farmer” with my son a few times. He had overheard it from the kitchen and came in giggling too, intrigued. We were bouncing a lot of ideas off each other about who it reminded us of, my first impressions were that of The Lonely Island and Viagra Boys.
My son actually remarked it reminded him somewhat of Electric Callboy (FKA Eskimo Callboy) when they kick on the “funny.” Hank cites Flight of the Conchords, Tenacious D, and Garkunkel and Oats among other comedic artists that he draws inspiration from. I definitely recommend his music for fans of all those aforementioned artists!
The greatest part about this kind of music is that you only need two basic components to enjoy it: 1.) a love for music (even if particular to a type of genre, if you can appreciate music holistically, this to me is easy) and 2.) a love to laugh.
