THE MUSTER POINT PROJECT IS BACK… Following the heartfelt “Don’t Give Me Anything“, Calgary-based ARTIST Kevin Franco BRING another song, the americana-heavy “Nothing Ever Goes Away”. The track is yet another single taken from upcoming album It Was Here He Received His Only Formal Education, due to November, and Kevin continues to impress with his vulnerability and openness.
“Nothing Ever Goes Away” tackles the complicated issue of financial struggles and crippling debt in the most earnest way. Even with such complicated subject matter, the song takes on a beautiful form with lush instrumentation filled with richness and depth in both sound and vocal performance. It is a gorgeous track, a story-driven narrative that takes shape amidst bright pianos, impeccable harmonies and a lovely country twang.

Kevin’s lyrics don’t shy away from diving deep and exploring said difficulties, as our narrator desperately seeks an escape from his condition but is unable to find one, feeling fear and unease. It’s another example of Kevin’s candid songwriting that never shies away from the real human condition in all of its complex and tiring ways.
The track, produced by Darryll McFadyen, does a wonderful job in keeping up the pace brilliantly and creates a sense of dynamism that works very nicely as the story unveils itself.
The music video that accompanies the single simply shows the shot of a cassette tape being played, because the most important part of “Nothing Ever Goes Away” is Kevin’s storytelling, which is at its very best.
The new single from The Muster Point Project stands out as a vulnerable and relatable tale of real struggle, portrayed with refinement and kindness that leaves us eager to listen to what else he’s got for us on the new album.
