ORDER “DOPPELGANGER” ON BANDCAMP NOW!
Frontman Alex Yacovelli, a talented DIY producer and former member of Rich N Pretty and Not Your Queen’s English, confidently leads this band as they boldly experiment with the vibrant sounds of Neo-Grunge, Punk, Alternative, Sleaze, and Garage Rock.
Inspired by the vibrant energy and bold essence of urban life, Yacovelli has been an undeniable force in the “Nu York” underground scene since the late 2000s, achieving remarkable milestones such as sharing the stage with Weezer during their iconic Madison Square Garden debut.
“Doppelganger” is a song that explores the profound journey of understanding one’s transformed identity following bold decisions—choices that challenge and redefine your moral compass.
With an unmistakable 2000s sound featuring highly distorted guitars creating a colossal wall of sound, the track blasts through the speakers with undeniable energy! This song commands attention, poised to astonish new listeners with its formidable presence.
Yacovelli’s vocals soar powerfully, vividly narrating the tale of his confrontation “in the face of another”. The lyrics challenge the listener, presenting a gripping dialogue reminiscent of a sci-fi epic, where the original and the copy engage in a fierce struggle until only one prevails.
Movies like The Prestige come to mind while listening. However, its harrowing theme is overshadowed by the uplifting riffs and hard-hitting drums. The chorus bursts forth with powerful chants, effortlessly finding themselves stuck within your mind.
“Not many people know that YACOVELLI is planning on releasing an “unplugged” version of this song in the near future. This may be on acoustic guitar or perhaps a grand piano…” YACOVELLI
You’ll soon find yourself singing along, fully immersed in the compelling psychological stand-off between the characters, where the battle of good and evil reigns supreme.
