The Flashpot Moments, Harri Mason, Urzah, and more…

March 12 2022.

One more week is gone and now we’re on Week 10 2022 I hope you’re doing well, welcome back to Less Than 1,000 Followers are you ready to go? This is our new round of 9 Albums/EPs you should listen to, let’s not waste more  time and take a look at this round, brand new music, you know that all of these albums are recently released (remember that you always can take a look back at our previous week recommendations here).

ALL ALBUMS/EPS SUBMITTED AND DISCOVERED VIA MUSOSOUP

1- The Flastpot MomentsVery Far” This album is a collection of energetic and emotional indie-rock songs that will blow you away with their high dosage of talent and flawless production. “Very Far” takes us on a trip where guitars, pianos, drums, and bass create an explosion of excitement with a retro feel. You can keep reading our review here.

2.- Harri Mason Shadows The themes of the album is about finding self confidence in hard times. When doubting yourself to try to make positive changes in your life. The whole album was written by Harri Mason and Adam Griffiths over email which she has never done before. There was about 20 songs written overall but only 11 made the cut to fit the theme. You can read our review here.

3.- Urzah “II”  Sharp shards of progressive, melodic post-metal sensibility meld seamlessly with hardcore style vocals and relentless riffing, on Urzah’s sophomore offering – aptly titled II.  Aggressive swathes of sludgy grit consistently lurch through a pummelling rhythm section and an ever-present, dynamically gripping aggression, drives this high energy release.

4.- Sikha-Pros, 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗸-Ins is a selection of memories, a voyage to the mystical, a stroll to the land of imagination, between waking and sleep information – the natural versus the spiritual – above the world of the senses & below the pure intelligible world; the mode of appearance & subsistence of images “in suspense” in a mirror.

A point that worth mentioning about creating this EP is that collaborating with an artist from China is a very unusual and difficult thing to do. The culture is shy and reserved and exposing their own music to those in the west is not widely accepted. Therefore me and Jing we felt that we crossed the barrier and ‘joined two countries together’. I gave voice to his art and so he did to mine.

5- Tuval Core is solo-artist Tuval’s sixth EP, and his most playful and diverse. Channeling old remnants of blues and soul guitar, through a futuristic psychedelic tapestry; featuring synthesised arrangements, plummeting driving beats and intimately warped vocals. All with hints of an Eastern twang, for good measures.. Core is also Tuval’s most topically intimate offering; with lyrics exploring themes around personal rebirth, recovery from addiction, overcoming times of suffering, and collective awakenings. This alternative rock EP is sure to take you on a ride.

6.- The Aftercare Youth Thing  In their own words “Our First EP ‘Youth Thing’ is loosely based around the tomfoolery that teenagers get up to ranging from their first encounters with partners to run ins with the police.”

7.- Sheriff Birch Duck Mug  Debut Album a Metis musician from Winnipeg who has been playing and recording in various arrangements for years. This album was recorded almost entirely by the Sheriff in his basement and has a lo-fi folk-baroque-country-rock-pop feel to it. A bit of a niche sound, but hope you enjoy!

8- Amii Dawes  Neck Verses   In their own words: “A Thank You Note is about how, particularly over the past 2 years, my family and friends have had to put up with a lot in regard to my personal mental health. It is a way of thanking them for being there for me and letting them know that it hasn’t gone unnoticed. This was the first time being the sole producer on a project so it was a real learning experience for me. The most honest, raw and heartfelt music I’ve ever produced”.

9.- MOODS4DAYS CERTIFIED MOODS  In their own words: “Moods4Days is a place of tranquility. Our colorful Instrumental music fits perfectly for background and or study music. Our distinctive easy-going style emanates joy and peace and expresses the atmosphere of a relaxing day in.  We try to tell a story with our music and welcome you to join us on this auditory journey!”
