Year Of The Fist – “50ft Queenie”

Year Of The Fist comes straight at us with a brutal, overdriven cover of the goddess’, PJ Harvey, prodigal 1993 track. Overdriven and with a cero-fuck-given attitude just like its predecessor, this new track recorded live marks their last single off their 7″ release from DCxPC Live.

If you don’t know about Year Of The Fist, or DCxPC Live by now you have been missing out. If your thing is violent, sweaty, screaming, garage-ripping, face-melting rock and roll these guys are for you. We covered YOTF’s previous singles and you can find them here: year of the fist live at ivy romm, Killer on the Road.

These guys just keep amazing with their explosive on-stage energy and their rather perceivable love for the trade. This time our good Oakland friends are killing it with a bass cover of “50ft Queenie” that pays homage to the rock legend.

Their album, recorded by our good friends from DCxPC, has been on sale since October and has nearly sold out, so if you want your copy you better get going! With 10 years of experience under their belt, they have opened for a wide spectrum of acts such as L7, Save Ferris, Iron Chic, 88 Fingers Louie, The Vibrators, Legendary Shack Shakers and Zeke to name a few.

So get ready for the greasy love of this hard-rocking fellas and bask under their ripping musical phenomenon!

“We decided to cover PJ Harvey’s “50ft Queenie” because it just shreds and it’s a ton of fun to play. We are currently writing the new album and prepping to hit the road, and locally, to play some rad shows during the second half of 2022.” – YOTF
