Genevieve Sovereign’s amazing new single “Present Dreams”

Australian-based artist Genevieve Sovereign is about to release her newest single “Present Dreams” on April 28th and it’s amazing! The singer and songwriter bring out once again her most faithful collaborator, producer Ben Tension, as she did in the gorgeous past singles “Vibration Angle” and “Life Soaked Reveal“, and she’s not fooling around. Like, at all.

Filled with beautiful and dancey synth lines all throughout the track, “Present Dreams” is a lovely synthpop song featuring Geniveve’s characteristic whispered vocals that flow neatly alongside the sped-up synths and keys. There’s a new urgent sense of energy that wasn’t fully present in her past tracks, and that makes “Present Dreams” seem like it’s soaring even higher than her back catalog.

“Present Dreams” is a synthpop song that sounds modern and cool, like something you’d hear from Chvrches or Shura; and it fits Genevieve perfectly. On this one, she goes harder and more pop-forward than anything she’s ever done, and it’s so good to listen to. It seems like this girl has found her path in music, sounding fresh and like an energy bolt.

Genevieve’s come a long way since her debut EP “it’s yours” which was released last year, and things can only look brighter and bigger for her from this point of view. “Present Dreams” is a perfect fusion of EDM and dream pop which few artists could ever dream of achieving. Maybe mix engineer Dee Cowan has had something to do with it, maybe not, but this is the first collaboration with the Geniveve/Ben duo. But either way, the sound conquered on “Present Dreams” is definitely noteworthy and a gigantic step forward for the duo’s impressive songs so far.
