After the opening “Bridge/Gap 1” we begin with “Anything Better To Do” and “Could’ve Been Pretend”. Two very similar tracks that create a most joyful experience. Feyer’s sensitivity shines to light, as well as his musical genius. You can hear everything from crunchy guitars, tight basses, carefully programmed drums, sonically rich synths, and warm pads. But what stands out more, in the whole EP, is Feyer’s vocals, enriched with thick harmonies and even vocoder synths.

Each bridge is unique, and seamlessly connects what appears to be Feyer’s lifeline. Past, present, and future. “Behind Closed Doors” is the most emotive track, and one of the best in the EP. An intimate, and personal dive into the artist’s memories. What sounds like a psalterium delivers rich melodies, while Feyer sings with a certain sense of nostalgia and sadness and a little bit of surrender and hope.

“This EP was birthed out of the Covid-19 pandemic when everything felt so uncertain. Outwardly with the uncertainty in the world, but inwardly too, I was struggling with my own future and the future of the music world in general. So, I hunkered down in my home studio and continued making the music I felt passionate about. This album, released steadily over the last few years, will complete a 2-year-long creative journey that is essentially closing out both a full musical chapter and my 20s as a whole.”

Feyer

Feyer indeed left the best for last in “Working Nights and Weekends” and “Surrounds”, with an exceptional display of what synths can sound and be like. Two magical and harmonically rich tracks that take us to a whole new different endevour, perfectly and carefully closing the long-awaited EP. So, go ahead and listen now!
