What’s going on ladies and gentlemen, welcome back! It’s your boy MadZen and today we have a great single with upbeat qualities and a nice crisp sound. The second single of this recently formed band (2022) delivers a bouncy groove with Pop affinities. Let’s get it!
heavy on the heart consists of Nikki Brady (Vocals), Costas Themistocleous (Guitar), Nick Kolokathis (Drums), and Andrew Nicolae (Bass). Now, with these names, one (me) would assume that these guys are from Greece or someplace like that, but, as it turns out, they are actually from… Long Island, New York! Such a fool I was! (Leave a like on their YT video if you thought like me).
“Not Now, Love” is the band’s second single after their successful debut with “Mr. Know It All” released in April this year. The track is a love song about two people who have not fulfilled their love for one another yet. It tells the story of 2 individuals who can’t deny the kinetic connection but who have yet to act upon it.
It comes with heavy feminine energy, from the likes of Paramore and Avril Lavigne, with a slight nod to Taylor Swift. It also comes with short but great moments of pure Rock attitude, where guitar riffs become the center of attention, leading to powerful choruses. A solid foundation of bass and drums creates an addictive feeling of wanting to dance along the magnetic groove.
Nikki’s vocals are on point and definitely add a lot of charisma and enchantment to the table. The music video shows all of them as they truly are, four friends having a good time while making good music along the way. So, go ahead and listen now!
