ALBUMS/EPS SUBMITTED AND
DISCOVERED VIA MUSOSOUP
1.- UK band The Trudy released their newest piece of work, and this time it’s a mini album. Titled “Outside Time”, this release is home to a variety of musical atmospheres from the chilled to the wild. Thus, while this splendid release may be small on the outside, it’s huge on the inside! You can keep reading our review here.
2.- I’m flying on a plane across country back to Portland as I write this. And it’s not the altitude that has me so high. Well, I guess literally it is. Figuratively though, I am high on a sound so familiar, yet is brand new. I am talking of course about Long Island’s Skappository, the A-side of the latest DCxPC live vinyl series. You can keep reading our review here.
3.- It’s time to introduce a new artist! Hailing from Vermont, US, Nancy Carey Johnson has a heart full of music, and this year the singer-songwriter has finalized a lifelong dream of a project – her debut album. The alt-folk flavored release also has a heart full of melodies, but there’s also lots more. Titled “Chaos & Grace”, Nancy’s first LP is a homage to life in its chaotic, occasionally devastating charm. You can keep reading our review here.
4.- American-based musician Bruner just released his debut EP Everybody Wants to Be a Cowboy earlier this year, and a little over six months he is already back with a brand-new album. My Descent Into Madness was teased by Bruner with two singles before the release, “With You” and “Monster Mash”, and those two songs gave us a taste of what was to come; and it did not disappoint. You can keep reading our review here.
5.- Woody Irvine debut EP “Broken Lines” in his own words: “The vision for this EP was unashamedly to make 1990s guitar-based rock music in the 2020s. The title evokes for me the idea of
disjointed links between the past and the present.”
6.- La Clara Sofia’s music is a form of sensorial alternative pop that celebrates the body and everything it is capable of experiencing and sometimes enduring. La Clara Sofia expresses emotions as intimate as they are universal, swaying between English and Portuguese effortlessly, and this scenery takes place in an aesthetic that draws inspiration from Brazilian rhythms and the groove of American music, with a touch of trip-hop. This is her debut EP “Desembocá”
7.- The Idiot Kids are a Garage/Punk Trio based out of Detroit, MI. They have the energy of punk, the roughened aesthetic of garage rock and the melodic sensibilities of art pop… This is music with shake-you-up hooks, frenzied tempos, gnarly guitars and anthemic vocals. Known for their live performances; they blend the theatricality of glam with the raw energy of hardcore. Listen to “Chapels” now!
8.- Means Of Production are an electronic duo from Oxford who are becoming known for their blend of postpunk, acid and techno and a series of immersive and compelling audio-visual live shows. “Adventures IN Capitalism” develops their sound and ranges from the tribal beat of “The Nail” to the acid revival of “Magna One” via the frenzied loops of “10 Dysfunctions” and the Industrial 2-step of “Yawner”.
9.- Dratz “Heart” The album tells a story that touches on themes like love at first sight, feelings, and endings. And also means to be looked as something personal while listening. This project incorporates themes of nostalgia and melancholy into its sound.
