From electrical engineer to dance music sensation, MELFI, an EDM producer from Queens is now ready to reveal to the world his unique style and sound. Teaming up with the label SONO Music, the producer creates a blend of Future House, UK Garage, Drum and Bass, and Dubstep, showcasing his wide versatility.
“I Got You” is a moniker of self-love and confidence. It is MELFI’s attempt at forgetting about bad past experiences involving his singing voice:
I grew up singing in choirs and acapella groups when I was young. I even made it to an all-county chorus competition two years in a row. I was, however, always timid about how I sounded. While most were very satisfied with my performances back then, one person made a searing complaint to me personally after a performance in early middle school, which shut away my confidence in performing for a very long time.
MELFI
After years of trying to find his unique musical style, making music through synths and drum machines, MELFI found out that the very one thing that machines couldn’t recreate was his own voice. So, the artist filled himself with courage and created this single, with his vocals shining through the mix.
After years of producing, playing the drums, and using samples from online libraries, I finally decided that now was the time to get comfortable and create a combination that would become unmistakably “MELFI’s Sound”.

The sonic choices made by MELFI are meant to provide a contrast between the harshness of his desire to shake off the shame of hearing his own voice on a recording and provide comfort in knowing that it is in fact a viable tool in his kit as an artist. “While the doubt is always there, lurking and waiting to strike, I show myself that I can embrace my inner voice.”
