Dark Miles is the solo project of Pedro Lima (aka Pete Miles), lead singer of the extinct band from Porto (Portugal), called “MOSH”. Recognized as one of Portugal’s most talented singers, Miles created this project for him to be able to deal with the inner struggles he had to endure after the end of the band and the reliving of childhood trauma that came alive again on that lockdown period.

“When The Lights Go Out” is Miles second single, having just debuted two months ago with “Your Heart is an Empty Street”, a track that addresses the theme of personal liberation, after a life of physical and psychological abuse, as well as a violent existence that came to an end with the same violence that characterized it.

Both songs reflect the darkness within his soul and the constant fight to release himself from the ghosts of the past. They are also the predecessors of his upcoming full-length album “Ten Miles Into The Dark“, scheduled for release in the first months of 2024.
Inspired by artists like Depeche Mode, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Peter Murphy, Psychedelic Furs, Peter Gabriel, and Mad Season, Miles tried to stay away from his heavier rock influences and went head on to the alternative rock world that he also loved when growing up. The result is a fantastic Alt Rock creation of amazing quality, both vocally and musically.
“When The Lights Go Out” was made during the pandemic, “a period where we found ourselves deprived of some elementary freedoms, and consequently rediscovered how fragile these freedoms are”, highlights Pete Miles, adding that “whether in what we feel, in what we do, in what we want and in what we are, this freedom is constantly put to the test, particularly in the times we live in, in which the nightmare of war has once again stripped many people of their human dignity.”
Dark Miles debut single was a great introduction to his new style of music, but this second release really raised the bar way up with an epic musical arrangement, an amazing vocal performance, and a music video release that accurately portrays the horrors of today’s ongoing events. (The video is very graphic, viewer discretion is advised).
