Hello my friends! It’s your boy MadZen and, man, am I excited to be here with you again. Today we have a very unique and intimate EP that mixes Soul, Pop and just a bit of R&B! A 6 track album that’s all about empowerment, brought to us by this LA artist! So lets get to it!
As mentioned above, “Bad” comes with six deeply personal tracks that talk about feeling broken, or being left with the hubris of somebody else’s mischief. All these situations we’ve all been through, so it should be easy to relate with it!

So, in case you missed it, Maria had already released two singles here in the blog, which are in fact included in the EP. Kill a Ghost and Cool Girl were Maria’s stellar releases before putting “Bad” out on Bandcamp (Please note that Bandcamp is the only place you can hear or get your copy).
To talk about the EP I would use words like humane, vulnerable, honest, and deeply personal. It has a very warm vibe to it, as if you were listening to it in your own living room. There are very little elements in each song, which include piano, double bass, cello, keyboards, acoustic and electric guitars, and of course vocals. But each element shines in their own way and gives life to every track. Specially the drums, which are performed and mixed in a very natural way. My god, do they sound good.
You will find tracks like Fragments, Fool For You, Bad, and the superb finale Devil’s Demands. All of which talk about insecurity (worrying about not being enough, or actually being a bad person), the prison of perfectionism (acknowledging your full, authentic self – good and bad), or even just having a crush on a fboy/girl. Haha!
I’m sure there’s a track for each of you, either way I hope this EP inspires you to connect with yourself and accept you just the way you are. Its easy to find beauty in Maria’s broken voice, so go ahead and get your copy!
