The Connecting Dots “Treasures in the Valley”

Earlier this year, a Swedish duo came forth with an uplifting electronic pop single “Move On“. In addition to sweeping listeners off their feet and into the band’s colorful atmosphere, this single was also the first taste of what was soon to arrive. The duo is The Connecting Dots, and their newest full-length release is now out!

Home to 10 songs with a total runtime of roughly 37 minutes, The Connecting Dots’ new release is a journey through a collection of moods and spaces and a harder, more diverse follow-up to the debut release “Oblivious Beat“. Quite aptly, the album’s title, “Treasures in the Valley” is reflective of that as well as hinting on the awe-inspiring sounds awaiting to be heard.

Each of the 10 songs have their own part in the whole picture, and none of them copy from one another. Thus, the listener gets to hear long dreamy guitar instrumentals along with Helena’s sweet voice, synth-driven ethereal soundscapes, cozy yet mysterious movie-esque tunes and rocking songs full of driving energy. “Treasures of the Valley” is basically like an audiobook telling the story of an exciting adventure unlike any other, building up in the head of the listener.

Such adventures would sound great on vinyl, some of you might think. You’re correct – in fact The Connecting Dots have vinyl copies for this album in the making. Make sure to check their Bandcamp sometime in November!
