This is the culmination of months of work. “By All Means Necessary” just might get album of the year. 17 tracks of pure Garage Rock magic.
OUT NOW!!!
Why is this album so fucking good? I’ve no idea. All I know is that 9 O’Clock Nasty is absolutely the coolest new band out there and I’m super glad to be part of their evolution. This new album is as weird as it is unexplainably so appealing. Every little mistake and sign of humanity, mixed with the very simple and effective instrumentation is, well, just a sign of these guys genius.
Every riff in the album is so good, I mean it. And I insist that the lack of complexity makes everything just flow like a seamless string of exciting tracks. For me, the best songs are “What Have You Done For Me Lately?” and “Indoor Boyfriend”.
The album comes with several previously released tracks that have already become anthems in a very little amount of time like “Darker Star“, “Do Me Too” (Part of their “Sex” EP), “I’m Bent” and “Playboy Driver“, but it also includes some amazing new tracks like “As The Ship Goes Down“, “Get Into Them Pt. I & II“, and the electrifying “Preach Me Down“. What a track!
You just gotta love this Garage Rock raccoons: Their hilarious sense of humor and plain talent; their own, unique approach to making music; the clear and solid friendship they have with each other; their excellent music videos made with almost zero budget. You’ve got to admit, their DIY approach to everything they do has clearly worked very good for them, creating for them a solid identity both on social media and their community.
“Special thanks to Addermyre for the cover art. We asked her to do backing vocals on some songs and she rightly refused. She’s our friend and sister.” – The Nasty
“By All Means Necessary” might not be the best produced album out there, or come with the highest amounts of recording quality, but these very things are what I believe makes of 9 O’Clock Nasty one of the most authentic and charming bands that I’ve listened to in a long time.
