What’s going on beautiful people! Welcome back! It’s your man of the night, MadZen, and today we have a brand-new single that sends chills down our spines and makes us remember that chilling atmospheres are also good for the soul. Brought to us by a band all the way from Belgium, this single embodies all the dark tones of the 80’s and 90’s. Let’s get to it!

Factheory is a Brussels-based band who have been in the game from quite a while. Reuniting several past members of bands from the 80’s, 90’s and 00’s, Factheory represents a successful compromise between darkwave with unstoppable melodies and a postpunk rock with electro trends. Their sound could be compared to that of 90’s Nine Inch Nails, Joy Division, or even Bauhaus.

This version of their single “Got You” is a remix made by an upcoming electro-rock band from Brussels called Ok Lion! It comes with a somber beat, a gloomy ambience, and deep low vocals. A steady and threatening synth-bass line pushes the groove forward, as the tight kick punches, and the drum&bass rhythm begin to show up.

It is a track for all you children of the night who want to go back to that beloved sound of Industrial and Goth Rock. The dark overtones create a composition that can be easily appreciated, and which could set up the mood for any alternative bar. Factheory also happens to alternate between French and English verses, adding more interest to their lyrics.

You can even listen to some dub elements in the track, may or may not this be intended it also adds a lot of depth to the track. The sharp synth-pads, the reverb-drenched echoes, all of these add to the great recipe for a good track. So,
