New Jersey-based artist Lexi Lemonade has been enthralling listeners since her first single “Drip” on 2020, and now she comes full circle with the multi-faceted EP Flavors. After the release of the track “Flavors” Lexi took a small break from music and became a mother in the meantime, coming back last month with the ethereal “Orion” and the EP announcement.

Lexi Lemonade’s debut EP serves a lot of different purposes at once: it is an introduction to Lexi and her experimental pop, a compilation of everything she’s put out so far plus one new track “Service”; and also the conclusion of an Era.
Lexi’s music is lush and sparkling, even in the darkest times, exploring an alternative pop sound and making the most of it like very few other upcoming artists. Lexi Lemonade has a very unique mind and vision, and she isn’t afraid of stepping outside of pop’s formulaic box, crafting sounds and atmospheres that feel truly her own.
Her brand of electronic pop hails from the same experimental veins as some of the most inspiring pop right now such as FKA twigs and Björk: an electronic soundscape that is filled with texture, nuance and impeccable taste. The new track, “Service”, comes as the perfect conclusion to Lexi Lemonade’s career so far. It’s a slow burner, with minimalistic approach to the production and gorgeous vocal harmonies that feel subtle and add so much to her back catalogue.

Flavors is a very interesting listen, exactly because of its nature as a compilation throughout the years. You can definitely hear her evolution as a singer and songwriter across the tracks and how passionate her sound is. Lexi started out by producing demos on her college bedroom, after the need to create art took over and she fell in love with songwriting and music making. Her debut EP comes to show us that she never lost that passion and creativity, only got better at it.
Lexi Lemonade shows us on Flavors a wide variety of genres and experimentations, exploring melodies to their fullest potential, always backed by gentle yet strong vocals that tie everything together. It’s the kind of work that tells you a complete story and leaves you wonderstruck with the richness of the atmospheres presented on each track.
Lexi Lemonade has been making creative electronic pop music for years now, and thankfully this is just the beginning. She has already proved herself as one of the most interesting new voices working in chill electronics right now, and Flavors feels like an old friend telling you ‘This is what I made so far, now I’m moving forward’ and taking you on that ride. The sky is the limit, and she is more than ready to soar.
