Highland Cinema is a pair of friends that grew up learning how to play music together and jamming in each others parents’ basements for years. Playing in multiple bands over their adolescent and young adult years together, they developed a profound musical chemistry that is rare amongst other musicians. After accumulating a handful of songs that were deserving of their own platform, they started Highland Cinema.
“More Than I Can See” is their debut single. A beautiful song with tender vocals and swinging rhythms, that takes us for a ride across a warm, sunny day. Velvet-like riffs drive the song, while the relaxed drums hold everything together with its soft groove. A well-rounded bass carries the vocals, and the crisp guitars delight our ears with its shiny presence.
The rock duo has 2 more tracks finished and ready for release in early 2024. The are inspired by musical icons like Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, The National, The Gaslight Anthem, and Ryan Adams, which heavily influenced the song, as it captures their classic songwriting style.
“More Than I Can See” was recorded at Lakehouse Recording Studio in Asbury Park, NJ. Craig Arthur, responsible for songwriting and production, also handled vocals, guitars, and bass, while Vinny Zapp laid down the drum tracks for this wonderful debut. So, listen now!
