Hello my friends, and welcome back to your favorite, humble music blog, where we deliver only the best underground artist from all over the world! Today I’m very excited to announce that our good friends I Am The Unicorn Head are finally releasing their first album ever.

Since their online creation in 2021, as a way to stave off mental health issues created by the pandemic, the musicians were quickly noticed by both BBC Introducing, and the PROG magazine thanks to their eclectic, uncommon, Psychedelic Rock. Singles like “Omnipresent” and “Eating Cornbread in Quarantine” were highly praised by these two media giants, boosting the band’s presence and fan base.

If you don’t know these guys by now, it’s best you know that the’ve got a great sense of humor, and a unique way of songwriting. Separated by thousands of kilometers, the online duo has managed to create a vast amount of great tracks despite the distance, and they all slap!

Future Dinosaurs” is an 11-track album filled with unique, crazy, and inspiring tracks. With a Garage Rock sound and a Progressive Rock mentality, the album is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you might get. Singles like “Unicorn of Death” and “David Bowie” are of course included, also “Omnipresent” and “Eating Cornbread in Quarantine”, but it is the rest of the tracks what finishes to create that sense of wonder and uncertainty of what might sound next.

The band were honoured when Simon Raymonde (Cocteau Twins/Bella Union) personally requested them to forward the entire album to him. He sent a detailed and very encouraging reply, and singled out a couple of tracks for particular praise!

I wanna make special mention of opening/closing tracks “Future Dinosaurs” and “Future Dinosaurs (reprise)”, as their acoustic style and short duration very much remind me of Pink Floyd’s album “Animals”, and I believe that to be a very nice touch. Also, honorable mention to the track “I Fear God (is leaving tonight)”, as its tribal drums-extravaganza mixed with female chants also brings me back to Pink Floyd’s “The Dark Side of The Moon”!

Please note that the album is only available via their website or their social media pages. The Deluxe digital version of the album is designed to be a cut above most similar releases, and includes:

  • Music files (MP3 and Wav), an Illustrated Lyric Booklet , CD Case Artwork, a Poster, 20% Discount code for Merch Store, and an exclusive bonus track.

So go ahead and get all of these goodies! And if you are somehow not yet convinced, you can listen to the official This Is I Am The Unicorn Head Spotify playlist!
