October 29th, 2022.
October is gone (almost) but I hope you’re doing great, what about this month for you? Was good? I hope so, my friend, and need to say thank you for being here with us, enjoying our work, I appreciate you. This week was a tough decision for me talking about my pick for album of the week cos this mates are just over 1K but I have to be honest with you and give me, they’re really dope and their EP is sick, I’m a big fan of their work, they’ve been on the blog several times and I just couldn’t help it, I’m talking about Rival Karma, and their “Powerduism” congrats mates, you did such a great job with this EP!!!
Have listen to my playlist Sickest & Dopest? The name speaks louder than bombs, right? These tracks are there for 1 week only, and I have usually around 50 to 60 tracks so if you enjoy one of them make sure to add it to your favorite playlist, don’t forget to follow and give them a green heart!!!
Let’s go, this Week 43 for the round up 9 Albums/EPs you should listen to. Please don’t forget the most important part of this whole thing: Support, support, and support!!! All that you like, you’re the spark that they all need and the best part it that any little action helps, everything counts, for example you can stream them, and if you enjoy their tracks save them to your libraries (heart their songs on the platform that you use), you also can follow them all over social media or the ones that you use, I have to say that for me sharing music is my life, I don’t asking you do the same but you can share this artist with your loved ones and that would be huge, add them to your playlists, pre-save their upcoming releases and if you have the luck to have them in your town get some tickets and enjoy the show.
Most of these albums are recently released (and important to say that you always can take a look back at our previous week recommendations The Margaret Hoolignas, Jackson Watson, Language Games, and more…, for the whole 2022 or 2021).
ALL ALBUMS/EPS SUBMITTED AND
DISCOVERED VIA MUSOSOUP
1.- Rival Karma’s brand-new EP “Powerduism” is a statement of what this duo is capable of accomplishing, even with the mayor setbacks of a pandemic. A masterfully written, recorded, and produced set of tracks that perfectly fit in any Stoner Rock, Blues Rock, and Grunge playlist. You can read our review here.
2.- This is a very nostalgic work of music with intense sounds and a beautiful retro landscape. “Cinema Sounds” is a three track EP by Blueprint Tokyo that wonders with its sensibilities and old-school approach. You can read our review here.
3.- Rivers by Painting by Numbers is home to 4 tracks and running for 17 minutes in total, the release opens up a mystical and spiritual world, enhanced with Keit’s enchanting vocals infusing with the flowing sounds and percussion that inspires to move your body. The echoing nearly intoxicating sound has a slightly tribal feel to it, giving the EP a load of ethereal power. You can read our review here.
4.- Ethereal, moody, hypnotic, Amelouk is music from the dreamy abyss. Its name comes from the Finnish word meaning death, kuolema, backwards read. The brainchild of Olga Vähä-Piikkiö, a scientist turned musician, Amelouk is a one-woman-band. Its first official releases came in 2022, although its roots go back more than a decade. Bending and blending genres, Amelouk appears in different instrumentations from acoustic piano to electronic, all the while retaining a recognizable feel and intricacy. Our review coming soon…
The EP “..Like a Shroud” travels in realms of the subconscious, dealing in visions, dreams and the haunted areas of the mind. It is a combination of old and new songs, spanning over a seven- year-period.
5.- Organised Scum and their brand-new album Remoan. Inspired by a gothic, industrial approach that utilises synths more widely and dispenses with previous song-writing structures – the album wears its influences proudly: the theatricalism of Scott Walker, the brutalism of Suicide, the romanticism of Prefab Sprout, and the wry humour of Boards of Canada.
6.- “f r a c t u r e” by fivesideddice is a multigenre EP that will catch your attention if you are a fan of dark lyricism and catchy melodies. Give it a chance and see if it resonates with you!
7.- ASMR the brand-new EP from emerging South Wales band ‘Nine Lives‘ is an explosive 4 track EP from the up-and-coming garage rockers. The songs, infused with a hint of stoner rock, hit hard, evoking their electrifying live shows.
8- Michy Tree brand-new EP Purgatory in her own words “this is a collection of songs I have been working on for 2 years covering multiple genres within the rock realm. Not intentional for the theme to be “horror” or “dark” however great for the season of halloween.”
9.- Lakeside X “The album is titled “Love Disappears“, which might evoke a sad mood, but in the end, when you listen to all ten songs, it leaves you with hope,” says keyboardist Robert Broj.
You can also give a listen to the following releas by Ricky Jamaraz “2am Jams”.
